Judge sets bail for monsignor
National Catholic Reporter
December 30, 2013
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, bail was set today at $250,000 for Monsignor William J. Lynn, four days after an appeals court ruled he was wrongly convicted of endangering children.
The judge ruled that Lynn must surrender his passport and be subject to electronic monitoring and weekly reporting while on bail. He must post $25,000 to be released.
At a news conference today, District Attorney Seth Williams said Lynn's conviction should stand because he was directly responsible for children's welfare, and Williams vowed to fight the decision to the end.
